Tell a friend:

6th April 2024 - 10.00am -1.00pm

Venue: Sock Gallery

Spend a morning learning a range of enamelling techniques.
With guidance you will learn how to apply lead-free enamel to copper. You will initially make a test piece and explore how to work with coloured enamels and how to use the kiln. Firing enamel takes moments, unlike firing ceramics, giving quick results. You will then make a piece of jewellery using pre-cut copper shapes, choosing to make either earrings or a pendant. You will make at least one piece of jewellery to take home.

Suitable for beginners and those with some experience.

About the Artist-

A degree in Silversmithing and Jewellery brought Christine from the countryside and a childhood on the farm - to the city of Leicester. The course gave her the knowledge and experience she needed to work in precious metals and a free rein to explore her creativity. She found herself a job as the designer for a jewellery manufacturer in Worcester. They made mass produced jewellery in 9ct gold and my designs sold in shops all over England. A great experience....but she really wanted more scope to do her own thing.

Now Christine enjoy's making jewellery in Silver and Enamelled copper from her own workshop in Leicester. She enjoy's creating her own ideas and experimenting with new techniques and materials. All of her work is handmade and each piece is unique.
